Fast wie Indiana Jones
Habe bald eine eigene PS3, dann gehört dieses Spiel wohl zum Pflichtprogramm. Habe bisher nur Gutes über dieses Spiel gehört.

Ab heute geht es los!
Ich kann es kaum abwarten. Ab heute Abend wird Mafia II gespielt und die Demo war ja schon mal richtig gut. Freue mich auf zahllose Stunden in Empiry City :)

Mein Favorit ist der Hamster in seiner Plastikkugel. Genial! Viel für die Lachmuskeln und manchmal auch ein bisschen was zum Seufzen. Ein schöner Film für die ganze Familie!

[text:private] => Nicht immer logisch und für Biologen oder andere Laborkittel sicher auch nicht gerade die beste TV-Serie, für Normalsterbliche wie mich aber schon. Ich hatte in den ersten Folgen zwar meine Schwierigkeiten, dabei zu bleiben, aber schon bald hatte mich FRINGE in seinen Bann gezogen. Ein verrückter Professer, ein fadenscheiniger Sohn und eine Regierungsmitarbeiterin, die perfekte Mischung für abstruse Geschichten.

[description] => Vita Scaletta und Joe Barbero sind schon lange gute Freunde. Bereits während der Schulzeit haben sich die beiden Italiener als Langfinger versucht und mehrere Diebstähle begangen. Doch sie kommen nicht immer glimpflich davon: Das erwachsene Gespann wird bei einem Einbruch erwischt, Vito hat Pech und läuft den Gesetzeshütern direkt in die Arme. Er wird vor die Wahl zwischen Gefängnisaufenthalt und Militärdienst gestellt, und zieht kurze Zeit später in den gerade herrschenden 2. Weltkrieg.
Wir schreiben das Jahr 1946, als Kriegsveteran kehrt Vito heim. Noch mitgenommen von den Kämpfen streift er durch Empire City, eine Stadt, die an das New York der 40er und 50er Jahre erinnert. Bald trifft er seinen alten Freund Joe wieder, der drauf und dran ist Vito wieder auf die schiefe Bahn zu bringen. Gemeinsam organisieren sie für ihren Freund aus der Werkstatt, Mikey, Ersatzteile – auf mehr oder weniger legalem Wege. Auch komplette Fahrzeuge sind vor dem Gaunerpaar nicht sicher.
Und als ob dies nicht schon genug wäre, reiten sich Vito und Joe immer weiter ins Zwielicht. Sie treffen bald auf Henry Thomasino, der bereits einen Wohlstand aufgebaut hat und einen hohen Stand bei einer der drei Familien hat die in Empire City das Sagen haben. Von so viel Besitz und Macht beeindruckt, haben Vito und Joe in Henry schnell ein neues Vorbild gefunden. Schraubschlüssel und Wagenheber weichen schwereren Geschützen.
Gemeinsam mit Henry ziehen die beiden auf Ganoventouren. Sie sind schon so tief in der Mafia, lernen immer neue Mafiosi kennen, kämpfen Seite an Seite mit ihnen - es gibt kein Zurück mehr aus der Szene. Doch sie sollten sich nicht zu sehr mit ihren Auftraggebern, wie zum Beispiel Luca, anfreunden. Denn da wären auch noch die anderen Familien, die die Macht über Empire City natürlich auch nicht ohne Gegenwehr abgeben - und sicher immer auf der Suche nach Helfern sind.

Die Charaktere
Hauptprotagonist in Mafia 2 für die Xbox 360 ist Vito Scaletta. Um der fälligen Haftstrafe wegen eines Bankraubes zu entgehen, verpflichtet sich der Sohn italienischer Einwanderer als Soldat im Zweiten Weltkrieg und kehrt 1946 schließlich heim. Gemeinsam mit seinem alten Jugendfreund Joe Barbero und dem in Mafiakreisen bereits bekannten Henry Thomasino verdingt sich Vito fortan als Laufbursche für den Mafiaboss DeLuca. Als einer der ersten Auftraggeber der drei dient schließlich der Mechaniker Mike "Mikey" Bursky. Auch ein weiblicher Charakter darf in dieser epischen Mafia-Geschichte natürlich nicht fehlen: Die hübsche Blondine Joan Burner sorgt für romantische Elemente in der ansonsten von Action dominierten Story.
Die Spielwelt
Als Schauplatz für die Handlung des Action-Spiels Mafia 2 für die Xbox 360 dient die fiktive amerikanische Großstadt Empire City. Das Stadtgebiet ist dem realer amerikanischer Städte aus den 1950er Jahren nachempfunden und fängt das Flair der damaligen Zeit nahezu perfekt ein. Der Spieler kann sich weitestgehend frei durch die Stadt bewegen, sein Geld in Läden, Restaurants oder an Tankstellen ausgeben. Insgesamt ist die Stadt in 20 Bezirke eingeteilt. Verbunden werden die einzelnen Stadtteile durch eine Hochbahnlinie. Alternativ ist natürlich auch die Fortbewegung zu Fuß oder mit einem Auto möglich.
